Anywhere you go bullying affects will be present. Bullying in the United States is common. According to Alex Cukan (2014): U.S schools are failing to reduce bullying. Also Alex Cukan (2014) mentioned that, "Band-Aid solutions, such as holding one assembly a year that discourages bullying, do not work," according to Jaana Juvonen, a professor of psychology at UCLA. This may mean that bullying has impacted the United States in a way that can make someone not try hard enough to prevent bullying. Although, they are not forgetting about the issue they just won’t try to do more. There is an article that was posted by Neal Colgrass (2014) and mentioned that bullied high-school students are bringing hundreds of thousands of clubs, knives, and guns onto school grounds. This is happening in the United States where bullied kids no longer feel secure within the school and cannot find shelter within any adult, that they have to take weapons to school to feel safe. According to Neal Colgrass (2014): “Researchers looked at the 20% of US high school students who report having been bullied, most of whom are white, female, and in lower grades, the numbers show that four categories of bullying victims—those who have cut school over safety concerns, had personal property stolen or damaged, suffered physical assault, and endured verbal torment—are almost 49 times more likely to have a weapon, and 34 times more likely to have a gun.” So now we start to analyze whether bullying is a big issue that can’t be handled.
